Default Layered Chocolate Cherry Cake with Whipped Cream

My mother in law taught me how to make this. She makes her own whipped cream with whipping cream, but I'm lazy so I don't do that, I just buy it in the tubs.

You will need:
1 box of your favorite chocolate cake mix (and whatever additional ingredients it calls for)
1 tub whipped cream
1 can cherry pie filling
shaved chocolate or chocolate drizzle if you want it.

Directions:
Make two cakes in either 8 ince round or square pans.
Put one cake on your plate and put a layer of whipped cream on it.
Open can of Cherry Pie Filling; take out about 30 cherries and set aside. Use the rest to put a layer of cherry pie filing on top of the whipped cream. Put other cake layer on top. "Frost" the whole thing with whipped cream. Put the cherries you set aside on top and put shaved chocolate or chocolat drizzle over the cherries if you want. Of course, you have to store this in the fridge or the whipped cream will melt/spoil, but don't worry you'll eat it in a hurry! My daughter and I made this for the children's baking contest at chruch, and she was the only one who won TWO awards, Best Chocolate Dessert, and Grand Champion Desert!
