Default T.G.I. FridayŽ OreoŽ Chocolate Cake

    T.G.I. FridayŽ OreoŽ Chocolate Cake
Rich chocolate cake with layers of creamy oreo filling topped with crumbled oreo cookie . .

    CAKE
    2/3 Cup butter, softened
    1-2/3 Cups sugar
    3 eggs
    2-1/4 Cups sifted cake flour
    2/3 Cup sifted cocoa
    1/4 Teaspoon soda
    1 Teaspoon salt
    1-1/2 Cups water
    1 Teaspoon vanilla .

    Filling
    1/4 cup butter, softened
    4 ounces cream cheese, soften
    1/2 Cup powdered sugar
    1 Cup whipping cream- whipped
12 Oreo Sandwich Cookies, coarsely crushed

    Garnish:
10-12 Oreo Sandwich Cookies, very coarsley crushed. Leave several large chunks
2 cups Nabisco Chocolate Wafer (about 40 cookies),very finely and evenly crushed

Cake: Grease and flour two 9 inch layer pans. Cream together sugar
shortening and eggs until fluffy. Sift together flour cocoa and baking
powder, soda and salt add to mixture. Add water and vanilla, Mix on low
speed . Bake on 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool
in pan 5 minutes. Invert onto wire rack, remove pans and cool completely. .

Filling: Beat whipped cream to soft peaks. Set aside. Beat cream cheese,
butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until
well blended. Gently stir in whipped cream and crushed cookies. Place one of
the cake layers on serving plate, top-side down.

Spread top of cake layer evenly with filling mixture. Place remaining cake
layer on top, top-side up. Spread top and sides of cake evenly with
remaining filling mixture Pat the very finely ground cookie crumbs onto
the sides of the cake. Sprinkle top of cake with any remaining fine crumb
and top with the coarse, larger cookie pieces

Tips on Crushing Cookies: Crush 12 Oreo cookies to add to the filling. Place
in zip top plastic bag and crush coarsely with rolling pin. Crush 10 Oreo
cookies for the garnish very coarsely leaving many large chunks for the top
of the cake. These can be crush by placing cookies in zip top plastic bag
and crush with rolling pin. . Crush about 40 Chocolate Wafers or Oreo
cookies for the sides of the cake to make 2 cups cookie crumbs. These need
to be crushed into a very fine, even crumb for the sides of the cake. If you
have a food processor, blender or a mini processor. This will make a very
    nice fine crumb.

*You can use oreo's but these will not create as fine a crumb as plain
chocolate wafers because of the oreo filling.

    Servings: 4

Unless you lick off the creamy centers first. Lol, just joking. I wouldn't imagine that being very sanitary but that is the whole concept of an Oreo.

OMG! I dunk anything I can! I dunk chips and pretzels in soda - toast, crackers, bread, cookies, donuts, etc. in tea, chocolate graham cracker and chocolate cov ered marshmallow cookies in hot chocolate, strawberries and bananas in milk, homemade bread in sauce - heck - when it comes to sauce - I'll dunk anything in it.

    born to dunk!
