What Do You Collect?

I like to collect different types of key chains. I have about 70-80 of them. Quite a nice collection.

I love Agatha Christie's mysteries. They are interesting and a look into the past at the same time. I find it amazing how modern the world was in the 1920's & 1930's.

I collect money. Every month I put $20 in ones into a small cylindrical container I have. I almost put $10 in quarters in as well. It's awesome.

Do you bury it somewhere? My advice would be to bury it until collect enough (usually around $2,500) of them to open an account at a no-load mutual fund like Vanguard, and then once you have an account, regularly purchase more shares in small amounts. If you do that for 30 years, your collection would be pretty nice, and provide you with stability.

[I'm not an investment person, just passing on my thoughts of wise investing. Banks pay nothing in interest these days, so I think this is the only way to grow savings in our current era.]

I collect sea shells and drift wood at the beach. Not quite sure what I will do with them, but I'm addicted.

Well - let's say - my kitchen is loaded! I have a beautiful (and old) matching set: canister, mugs, s & p, creamer & sugar, 2 plant pots, wall clock, etc. and then of course I have all sorts of chickens and roosters made out of just about anything you can think of! I've always liked chickens and strawberries/strawberry blossoms and incorporating the 2 really does look nice.

I need to get a digital camera and post pix of it.

All right, I get it now. I was thinking you collected live chickens for shows. I remember my grandmother had a chicken clock on the wall of kitchen in the 60's. The red and white went well together. Can't remember if there were strawberries in it. And she had those white enamel pots for her stove so everything matched. You don't see much white cookware these days to match the chicken ware! I suppose that will return in about 5 years.
