Default Care Package Ideas?

Jon's sister in law is in the hospital. She just had a baby on the 18th of Sept. who wasnt due til Nov 30. The baby is doing wonderfully but her Mama is gonna be in there for awhile yet. She is recovering from preclampsia. The Mama had a blood clot on her lung and had gained like 30 pounds in fluid. Her kidneys had all but shut down but thankully since the baby was delivered those are working again.
I want to send the new Mama a care package of food tomorrow by her husband. It is her birthday also. I am sending homemade chicken soup, a loaf of brioche I am making now, chocolate chip brownies & I was going to send her a jar of apple pie jam and strawberry peach jam. I'll send along some plastic spoons and such. I figured she could slather the brioche with the jam of her choice.
Any ideas on anything else I might send her?

This is the baby. She is doing wonderfully considering she was only 29 weeks.

I would also check with her doctors, first. She might have food restrictions, given the problems she had.

Other than that I agree with Mapiva. There is nothing like food from the outside to perk up somebody in hospital.

I had to leave the salt out of the soup because her blood pressure has been an issue but other than that she can have it. Thanks for your help guys.

The mother got to come home today. I took the food down to my mother in laws. She was going to go down to their house this evening so she can deliver it for me. They live in a different county than us.
