Talking My Niece's Halloween Candy..

Every year I make them a nice bucket of candy to take home after we go trick or treating. People just dont give out candy like they did when we were kids. I like to stuff a bucket with GOOD candies for them. One niece is almost five and the other is going to be two soon. Last year the baby was to small for candy but this year she can have some. When we go trick or treating I take along cookies and a thermos of hot chocolate. After we finish we go to my father in laws and have a indoor picnic in his dining room. I make them their fav sandwiches & cupcakes. I take chips and drinks and my FIN makes chocolate chip cookies for them. They have a really good time. My nieces are the two kids in my avatar.

Here are their candy cauldrons for this year. I still have to get some suckers to stick on the tops then they are done.

I sure miss some of those good ole' Halloween candies, janie! I bet your nieces LOVE the buckets you're generous enuf to lovingly prepare for them!

BTW friends- I'll be gone for a while...heading to Vancouver Island for the funeral of a former co-worker and I'm taking a week off while I'm at it, just to hang-out there a bit... Not sure if I'll have easy web access or not. TTYL!)

In my neighborhood everyone still seems to be giving out lots of candy. I always have a party on Halloween which is also trick or treat night in my neighborhood. So there are a bunch of dressed up people at my house giving out candy. One thing I have noticed is a lot of teenage boys trick or treating with out a costume. I refuse to give them any candy. I am a grown woman old enough to wince when telling my age and I'm dressed up like the green fairy. These candy munchers can wear a costume too if they want treats.
