Default Duh...

Remember Jon's pal who scowls over my offering a cookie to his girlfriend and tells her daughter she is fat but its ok cause he is "joking"
He works out alot and thinks he is gonna be some big body builder. He is almost 34 I think and trust me he is never gonna get there. Around here he always talks about my cooking fattening things for Jon and how Jon should eat healthier. According to him he only eats a specific diet his trainer has him on. PLEASE! He was telling Jon the other day he had two plates of chicken fettucini alfredo at the Itlaian place here in town plus a basket of breadsticks. I asked Mr Healthy if he had a clue what alfredo sauce was made of. Then he made the excuse he did this or that to work it off so it was ok. I have had the same dish at the same restaurant and the portions are huge! I got the alfredo one time and had to bring half of it home for later. When it got cold in the fridge it was nothing but a plate of solid butter. We know his trainer and the trainer thinks this guy is sticking to the strict diet he has laid out for him. His girlfriend was telling us he eats candy bars all the time and how they go to pizza buffets.
I told him on the phone if he makes one more freakin crack about my cooking or one more scowl when I offer his girlfriend a cookie Im gonna crack him on the head
To hear him tell it he only eats big plates of veggies and he can't even have a drop of dressing

Some folks simply are at their best when they're breaking others down. This dude sounds like he might be the type. I bet he'd feel like a real stud if he could make his girlfriend or her daughter CRY. Wow. What a HERO. (sheesh! where's my slappin' glove?)

No body builder is going to eat like a health food critic. That's not the idea. The purpose of body building is to build mass. Tearing the muscles and rebuilding. Consuming as many portions of protein a day as possible.
Who is this guy kidding? He sounds like Monk on steroids.

Speaking of body-builders, I got to meet Bob Paris once... He was a Mr. Universe back in the 80's. Amazing guy- gracious, real, down-to-earth & charming. Something tells me he wouldn't talk down someone's desire for a cookie- or verbally abuse someone who chose a different nutrition path than he.

Yeah he knows better than say much to me about my cooking but I can tell from Jons end of the conversations when they are on the phone he is to him. Jon says he just ignores him. Last time they came I gave his girlfried a bowl of homemade ice cream and offered him a bowl of woodchips from my smoker.
He is supposed to be doing like all veg for a meal then all protein for another. The diet is designed to add muscle mass. His trainer told him anything other than whats on the diet totally negates the diet all together. His girlfriend had told me about him cheating on the diet before but I never said anything cause I didnt want to betray her confidence but now that he admitted to not following what he preaches I do not want to hear it ever again.
He is the equivalent of a meat eating vegetarian. I told Mr Fitness even I knew marinara sauce had less fat and calories than alfredo. He can do what he wants and its up to her what she does but I dont want to hear one more freakin crack about my cooking from him. People act like my cooking has put a belly on my husband. My husband's sweet tooth and lack of a metabolism have put a belly on him. Jon over indulged during the holidays. But every time I made some thing sweet during that time he asked me for it. I told him at the time he was gonna regret it later. When Jon was in the accident that left him blind he fell into a coma for weeks. They shot him full of steroids for weeks and weeks. Before the wreck he was skinny and could eat what he wanted. Afterwards he gains weight easy..the steroids changed his metabolism. Plus he is short and small framed which makes any weight look like more on him. His Mom, Dad and friends allllllllll seem to think it is my fault. Im getting kinda tired of hearing Janie's got that big belly on you.

Wow, I can;t believe you are being blamed for yours husbands build. i have never heard of such a thing. Well, I have heard that people blame fast food places for their problems.
I hope you aren't force feeding Jon, Janie. I have only been here on SP for a short time but seeing your postings I don't see you as the type to be standing over someone demanding that they eat and eat and eat, or demand that they get no exercise, lol. That is funny. I don't understand the blame game. It seems that there always has to be someone to blame for every problem.
I'm going to be 48 in a few days. I work construction. I am not the kid I once was and My build has changed through the years. I have a bit of a gut and it doesn't matter how much work I do or how little I eat I can't lose it. I chalk it up to age. I surely am not blaming my wife and would definitely not allow my family to blame my wife. There would be no tolerance for that.

I get the opposite. My Dad always says that my husband is too skinny and it's all my fault because I don't feed him enough bacon grease and cookies. That he's starving to death. I know he says it just to tick me off but it works. It does tick me off. My husband is 6 ft and 172 lbs. not fat but hardly coming from the concentration camp skinny.

I checked out the Mexican store next to Jons physical therapy place. They had tons of dried peppers and mexican herbs and spices I had no clue about. Its funny they have changed the labels on everything we buy to include Mexican and English but everything in their store was Mexican. What a rip off lol.
I did find some dried Mexican Oregano which I bought.

F.Y.I. I find the Mexican Oregano to be stronger than other types so you may want to adjust your recipe when you use it Janie.
