Default Took a forced break from cooking

It all started this past Sunday morning. We awoke to an inch of snow....the first snow for us in a long time.We realized we had no heat and smelled gas. So we got out of the house very fast and called the Gas company. They came out and found two gas leaks but the repairs could not be done untill Tuesday. Then our Hot water heater quit working Tuesday night. It is only two years old.So now we have heat but no hot water. We have been staying at Hubby's parents. Hopefully we will have the new one installed today.
So there's my reason for not cooking this week. MIL did all the cooking this week and told me to enjoy my break.....lol...that was fine but I'm so ready to get back in my own home....I love my Inlaws dearly but no place like home.
This has been a week that I don't want repeated !

Dang, Francie! What luck! But, on the other hand- as you mentioned- what a nice l'il break, too! Hee-Hee!

I think our winter may now finally be behind us here in Illinois. (knock on wood!) It's been in the high 50's and although it's supposed to storm all weekend- they're calling for mid-60's... I LIKE!

I can imagine you are looking forward to being back in your old place. You just can't be at easy in the same way anywhere but home. I hope you are back soon.

As long as you are safe and healthy, thank goodness you got out of there and fast! It will be all nice and normal again soon, and you'll be back in that kitchen "slinging hash" before you know it! And it is so good to hear from you!!!

It's good to hear you smelled the gas and got out safely. I hate seeing news stories of people sleeping and being over come by gas fumes.

I had to go to NC a few months ago and spent several weeks away from cooking. It's something that I am not used to at all....
