We've got more rain, rain , rain..........................it's messing up my work schedule for sure

Snow coming here too -another Surprise Storm it looks like - had one years ago on October 13th - leaves still on the trees - took down pour lines throughout a couple counties. No heat, no water, no phones - nothing for a week or more. Lost most of the trees in 2 - 3 counties.
Lost all the foods in the freezers - it was not nice. Now they say it's coming again. Maybe I should pluck my trees?????? LOL

We had the first frost here on Sunday. Looked so pretty. Now the brussle sprouts will have some flavour.

Atleast living here in town with the police and ambulance station right down the road they get our electric back on super fast. I picked some greens from the garden yesterday evening and gathered some peppers and the last of my herbs. Im going to pickle a few quarts of greens like my thai friend showed me.

Calling for the white stuff here in central Illinois too, janie! Dang- I don't dislike snow or I wouldn't have lived in Alaska for 13 years, but it's way too early for my tastes!

I dislike winter with a passion! Snow thankfully is a rare occassion around here, I think it is dangerous!

I grew up in New England and I love the first snow of the year, it's always so beautiful. After that it gets old quick.
Here in Georgia even a dusting of snow will close school and turn roads into a demolition derby. I get a kick out of how many 4wd cars and trucks end up in ditches LOL

The biggest secret to life in Alaska? The locals up there would KILL me... but the truth is- in most regions where large populations live- the weather is worse here in various regions of the lower-48 than up there. Of course, the furthermost far-flung regions aside- where most of the residents are concentrated, the clime is pretty average. In fact, more times than not, from Dutch Harbor, Juneau, and even Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley- when I called home to Illinois it was generally nastier and colder here than up there! Of course Alaskans like that everyone has the perception that it's COLD and BLIZZARD-LIKE all the time! Keeps the tourists away- HA!

Here in north central Louisiana it's just rain for the last week or so.
