For the record:

Why I love my dishwasher: It sterilizes the dishes.
It saves from having the ugly dish drainer sitting on my counter top.
It eliminates standing water from being around to attract bugs.
I love the sound it makes when it runs at night, puts me to sleep!
It uses no where near as much water as washing by hand.
My dishes are never greasy!

Oh yes and who can forget...I am in and out of the kitchen so much quicker! I never had a small 1 person family and so washing dishes for me was a LONG, LONG CHORE!

The one thing I don't like to do is chop onions. My eyes are very sensitive to the onions and I cry until I cannot see what I'm doing. So, I buy the cup-size plastic cartons of chopped onions in the supermarket.

You're right that does get monotonous!!!! My fingers get so tired by the time I am done! I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
