I'm from Illinois and I say pop .... Hubby is from Arizona & he says soda ... Grandmother-in-law from Georgie and to her it's sodee water

That's funny, It's like when you want to buy film, you'll just say Kodak, even if it's Fuji, or if it's a toothpaste you say Colgate even if it's Crest, LOL.

So anyway, I still dont get it. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SODA, POP AND COKE. And don't tell me it's the spelling. hehe

I grew up in Indiana, & everyone there called it pop. We moved to Oklahoma and it's soda here. My hubby's from Texas and he calls it sodee water. My daughter's so confused, she usually just asks for whatever brand she wants to drink. "Mom, can I get a Pepsi?" or "Mom, Dad is getting a Coke, can I have one too?"

yeah its all the same --- just depends on what mom & dad called it.

People around here call all diapers Pampers. That drives me nuts cuz I dont even LIKE pampers. LOL

I voted before reading... I call coke Coke, and I call other sodas by their respective names. I don't really just say "Can I have a soda?", well, I do, and it usually implies Coke.

I call is soda. So people would really call a Sprite or a Mountain Dew a coke?!
