Default A new way to bake cookies!

Have y'all seen the article about the woman who baked cookies on the dashboard of her car?

http://www.boston.com/news/odd/artic...p1=MEWell_Pos1

I may try that tomorrow! It's supposed to hit 101 here.

Sounds wild. It's cooling down here to the lower 90's but will heat up next week. I might need to try that!

After reading that though, I can't imagine that people leave kids and pets in the car.

Have you guys seeen this Solar Oven? We came across this some time ago when we were looking into solar power for our home. Supposedly it works well. It looks like something my husband could put together on the weekend in the garage for almost nothing.

That solar oven is intriguing. I'd love something like that to avoid heating up the house with the hot oven in summer.

I actually tried making cookies this way over the weekend.

It didn't turn out quite as well as I'd hoped. After an hour, I gave up and finished them in the oven.

However, I may have started a little late in the day, and besides the car was in a little bit of shade.

I may try again, just for laughs, to see if I can get it to work.

That is hilarious. It's certainly energy conscious and inventive. Do you think she does the proverbial frying of the egg on the sidewalk, too? LOL It's been a hot summer here, but not that hot, thank the Dieties.

TexasRose---At least you tried!!!!!!!
If I tried that here (we live in the advertised "Liveable Forest") every bird around here would use them as targets and then the squirrels would be thanking you for their afternoon snack.

That is funny! Although, I have heard of people heating food on the dashboard of the car. It's usually things that have already been cooked & only need heated, not something that's raw! LOL

I can't believe you really tried that. hehehe. Does your car smell good now? No need to buy airfreshener for your car, just bake some cookies in it. problem would be that you would probably be hungry all of time.
