I'm not able to get my hands on a damned decent orange here lately

I've shopped at Aldi's, Kroger's, Jewel and Walmart and every orange I get is completely devoid of flavor and aroma.

Is anyone else having the same misfortune?

(White grapes I recently purchased, however, have the BEST flavor I've tasted in years!)

Kevin, same trouble here. but we just have WM. One only wonders where they came from or how old they might be. There produce all looks OK but will not hold long. CF:)

Ditto here - and other produce items don't last a week anymore!

Oranges don't develop their best sweetness until the first chill of the season. Something about the chill causes them to produce sugar. Peak time for picking them is December - February. We've had several nights of cold weather recently, so the best oranges should start hitting your markets soon.

The ones on my tree in the back yard weren't fit for picking until now.

I'm glad to hear that SilverSage. Our oranges have been pretty poor here in Louisiana. It's nice to know I have something to look forward to.
