I use mine for reheating, but also for cooking veggies, melting things (like butter), defrosting meats, and quite a few other things. It's very versatile and helps you be efficient.

Like TexasRose,

Reheating and defrosting---AND popping corn!!!!!!! People with babies find it indispensable------I really don't remember the last time that I cooked a real meal in it from beginning to finish.

popcorn, reheating stuff, starting out baked potatoes (much faster than traditionally baking potatoes).

I used to use it to boil water for tea/cocoa, but then I got an electric kettle. LOVE THAT.

Yes! I'm one the those who only use it to reheat. I'm the only one who likes to drink tea so instead of boiling an entire kettle of water to make tea I pop it in the micro to heat the water. I defrost things in there, too. That's it and honestly, other than using it to make an egg dish when I got my very first micro in the late 80's, I've never cooked with it. I also made micro popcorn in it once. I remember getting a free bag of popcorn which I popped in it and it somehow burned and scorched (ruined) the turntable. That was an expensive bag of "free" popcorn.

In the 80's it was so popular to cook with your micro. What I didn't like was forking out for all new micro cookware and the fact that it was a "science" to learn to cook with the thing.

I'm an oven, crockpot and BBQ Gal!

I cook eggs in it too. Place a little butter in the bottum of a bowl and then crack the egg in the bowl. I cook it for 35 seconds and then I have a cooked egg "over easy medium". really quick and easy.

I bought a microwave and never used it except for popcorn. I gave up microwave popcorn after that write up on the ingredients. So it is now retired and only pulled out to heat my wax for my eyebrows!
