>he has the body of a God....Buddha.<

It's like I tell people: Of course I'm in shape. Round is a shape.

Well guys I got 2 books in the mail today.
The Lady and Sons Just Desserts (Paula Deen)
Giada De Laurentiis's Family Dinners

Both books have a lot of delish recipes in them.
Paula Deen's will be wonderful for holidays.
Giada's was full of lots of recipes I had downloaded and will try...just wish the basil would grow faster lol.

I think you will love Ina's book also. I read cookbooks like novels and her's are so nice. Barefoot in Paris makes me reach for my passport.

Let us know how you like Giada's? I like most of her recipes.

Nan

I am in Seattle getting a boat ready for a short job, so will be in and out for a couple of weeks.

Hi Shipscook,

Good to hear from you. I like you read cookbooks like novels! There is one of our own Spice Place members that had his own cookbook done for family gifts at Christmas and he let us know about them and I bought one and have enjoyed it so much I had to buy my baby sister in Vermont her own copy! It's Jafo, you see a photo of his Cookbook as his avatar, when he posts here!

My all time favorite cookbooks were something I found in an antique shop, and bought them for their artwork, they are called "A Basket of Apples" and "A Basket of Berries" by Val Archer. The watercolor paintings that grace each page are exqusite! (I did a customer review on the "Basket of Berries" in Amazon's website, if ya' wanna check it out.) I love them for the art work most of all

Hey JG how's that cookbook - "The Foods You Crave" seem to be? It sounds interesting.

Well I just thought I'd pass the word on about Jafo's cookbook and the wonderful little artistic treasures I found!

Cheers, Cathy

I cant wait til I get the rest of the books. I love Ina to.
I love Giada's Family Dinners. I curled up on the couch last night and read both books from cover to cover.
We will look forward to hearing from you as soon as you return.

My father in law swears she is the only one on the Food Network who quote..cooks like they have brains lol. This comes from the man who makes white breakfast gravy that taste like it looks..wallpaper paste. Im all for watching a little fat but he takes it to extremes. Bleh.
