    Smile Mayonaise sugar cookies

A quick cookie with great texture. My recent favorite. Make sure you use real Mayonaise and not a salad dressing. Salad dressing will still have a mayonasie taste after baking. REAL Mayonaise will bake just right. If you bake your cookies with Real Mayonaise and it still tastes like mayonaise, then the cookie is under baked and you have to bake it some more. These cookies bake very easily.

    Mayonaise Sugar Cookies

    Mix together:
    1 c. REAL Mayonaise
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. Vanilla

    Blend together:
    2 C. flour
    1 tsp. Baking Soda

Combine flour mix with Mayonaise mix. Place on cookie tray by spoonfulls and flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake: 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
    ...............
Makes a good peanut butter cookie. Add to the mayonaise mix 1/2 c. Peanut Butter. Press with fork on trays.

Interesting. This is a good one to have around when the cupboards are bare and you need cookies. Does the mayonnaise make the cookies really moist the way it does in a cake recipe?

No, it makes them light and crisp. It isn't a soft cookie at all. But not super hard. They are so easy for kids to make.

This DOES sound really interesting- I can hardly wait to try it! Afterall, the Hellmann's Mayo Chocolate Cake is an all-time FAV! Yum!

I'm going to try this recipe. We have a hard time getting margarine or shortening here, and butter is very expensive. Using mayo sounds like a great idea.
