I've seen commercials about this. I am interested in hearing the responses too from someone who has used one.

i have one and i still use my regular electric can opener or my old crank one - keeping it charged is a pain - i charge it and don't use it and when i want to use it - it's not charged - with some things i think i am losing patience at times

I thought charging might be an issue with those. I can handle my electric can opener - they just make those look so nice to have on tv.

Is it possible to just leave it on the charger until you need it?

Default can opener

Pampered Chef has one that is a crank that leaves no sharp edges then you dont have to worry about charging it.
