Does anyone have a good and tried and true recipe for salsa? I love salsa but would like to make my own instead of buying it.

Well, I have one it is actually my siters recipe and I change a few things about it to make it my own.

I use a food processor to make it also. (it usuall takes me 2 to 3 processor bowls full)

1 can whole tomatoes, (28 ounce)
1 medium to large yellow onion
1/2 green bell pepper
1/2 red bell pepper
1 anaheime pepper
1/2 poblano pepper (in place of green bell, if you want more heat)
3 fresh tomatoes
1 large bunch cilantro
garlic powder (or fresh garlic) also to taste
1 teaspoon cumin per food processor bowl full
black pepper to taste
white vinegar (or lime juice)
salt to taste
and at the very last add the tomatoes to the food processor (but don't blend too much as you want them a bit chunky).
Now for the heat, I use jarred jalapenos, about 2-5 slices per processor bowl, and a teaspoon or two of the juice. I don't make it too hot right at first because as It gets ages it gets hotter.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much and it sounds great. The next time I go to the grocery store, I will buy the ingredients to make it.
