Where Would You Travel For ?

If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, and the criteria was that you were going for the food and food related shopping, where would it be?

For me, the Maghreb tops the list. Anywhere in the cous-cous eating parts of western North Africa. But Morocco holds the most appeal. That's where the Turkish influence runs thin, and the Berber and Moorish flavors reign supreme.

I'm not particularly interested in restaurant food, per se. Rather, I want to explore the native foods as prepared at home, and discover for myself the variations found in the different parts of the country.

Between meals I'd haunt the souks, shopping for spices, and tagines, and couscouseries, and filling-in the corners with street food.

I would travel to the Greek Isles and gain about 50 lbs in a little over a week I adore Grecian dishes and my all time favorite is Grecian style fish Yummy! Not to mention the beauty of the area and the entire trip would probably end with me never wanting to come home!!!

Then I would pop over and elbow my way in on Brook's vacation and tag along with him and enjoy the cusine of that area, and then I would be broke from all the shopping at the Souks, and I could not get back to Greece Which wouldn't be altogether bad because Morrocan cusine is one of my favorites too and then I would just have to live in Morocco until I could raise enough money to get back to Greece!!! I think it would not be too hard to adapt to the change though!!!

I would probably travel to Mexico for the main course. Tacos, tortillas and all the salsas and for dessert I'd probably go to The Netherlands cause they have the best cookies.

I would like to take a trip to Italy Good Food & Fine wine, scenic. Maybe some day Hopefully.

My quest in foreign lands to quench cravings would be two-fold... while seeking out delectable groceries would certainly be a priority- my first goal would be to select a region where the lustful appetites of the naked locals craved only flabby hairy beasts like me who cast extra-wide shadows! All else would be only secondary! (Hee-Hee!)
