Default Thanksgiving is the Time For Tradition...

...but are there any NEW recipes you're planning to try for the first time, this holiday season?

I normally try a few new recipes each year but this year I haven't even started on my menu yet. Thanks Kevin for reminding me that I really need to get on that!

Well, I will be making the barbecued kielbasa this year. I just started making it, so that should be interesting.

The kielbasa sounds great, Jafo! In the west and in AK there's a fantastic grocery-chain called Fred Meyer- the "Super Fred's" also have a non-food section that's very cool, hip and fun- almost like a Target. Anyway- they've got fantastic foods- and an awesome bakery and deli. They sell a bbq kielbasa that's pretty incredible.

I have brain freeze....I have been trying to decide what to make . I want to make something new but prob anything I make will pale in comparison to Hubby's sister who is an excellent cook. What to make? lol..that is the question..It would have to be something easy......I'm easily intimadated when it comes to cooking and that's why I keep it simple.

I'm not sure what to make maybe keep it simple and do a ham, sweet potatoes, cranberries, some kind of pasta. I was thinking to of doing a stuffed chicken already made just Heat and serve or going to Boston Market. lol We did that one year we usually go to my sisters for Thanksgiving but my husband and I both got sick so we ordered Boston Market. It was really Good. We stayed in our pajamas & ate turkey lol Cookie

I am sorry you feel intimidated about cooking. I also used to feel that way, it was more the folks I was surrounded by were hyper-critical of others and so I would get to feeling intimidated and just really did not enjoy preparing anything around them, or for them. In time I became such an excellent cook I just never gave them a second thought, I got to the place where I figured it was their problem if they wanted to be mean & nasty & critical. I began having more and more success in the kitchen and feeling less and less intimidated. I hope in time Francie you can feel that way! And it is also my hope that you will love buzzing around the kitchen and whipping up such great stuff that nothing else matters I Love Cooking and I wish everyone could find that same ease and comfort in the kitchen that I feel. My kitchen is my domain and sancturary!!!
