well, you can almost spell general, so am assuming you are old enough to go near the range?
not to be mean, but first posts sound very childlike?
I have recipes my kids could make at home alone at ten, but the pantry had what was needed. and they had specific instructions as to what heat souce they could use.
    so whad up???

Do you yourself enjoy cooking- or the idea of cooking?

Does your Mum not enjoy cooking/eating?

We could offer recipe ideas/hints- but knowing you/your Mum's general interest level would be a help.

My experience is most folks who enjoy eating enjoy cooking- at least on some level.

If no one in the home is really into wrestlin' w/ groceries that's no big deal. Not everyone has that interest. There are ways around at least getting one's required nourishment. Most grocery stores/markets offer ready-made items that require simple re-heating or that can be eaten cold... and delis with dishes one can purchase packaged-up and ready to serve.

So what's the degree of inability we're talkin' about in your/your Mum's case? Give us a target to aim for and we'll do our dangedest to zero-in and assist!

By the way- welcome to our forum! We always enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. You offer us a fine challenge and we look forward to being able to help...

Here is what you do, take it all with humor.
Tie your mum to a chair facing the TV. Use duct tape due to it's high adhesive quality and using small strips tape your Mum's eyelids open.
Turn the TV to the Food Network station. Adjust the volume to your Mum's hearing level. If you can check your local listings for the PBS stations check to see if any Rachel Ray cooking marathons will be playing and if so, use them to your advantage. Rachel really jams a lot of information into a 30 minute show so during a marathon I'm thinking information over load.
When you believe that your Mum's not cooking spirit has broke untie her carefully. Release her hands and feet last just incase she was faking and wants to seak revenge.
If she goes into the kitchen to whip something up, job well done. If she returns carrying a cast iron skillet and beans you in the head with it, very good.Mission accomplished. Always respect your Mum.
