Hey Style Crab Cakes are so easy and they taste wonderful so it is a reward when you do make them! Do you ever make Salmon Croquets? Well that is exactly the recipe I use for crab cakes only I substitute a Crab Meat for the Salmon, and I add a touch of Old Bay Seasoning. Works like a charm! Give it a try sometimes Also I make mine a tad thinner so they a thinner and more rounder than my Salmon Croquets and I dress them up by serving them with a nice rich Roumalaude Sauce drizzled lightly on top and some Alfalfa Sprouts, also a lemon wedge served with the as well! Yummy

I find that duck has more bone than meat and to feed a lot of guests at Thanksgiving you will need a meaty meat

    Chicken biryani-- an Indian dish.

Actually, I've always wanted to make just about any chicken/rice Indian dish!

I've always wanted to make a souffle. I just never do because you have to make it and then hurry up and eat it. My husband doesn't think he will like souffle (not that he has ever had it). So if I make it I have to eat the whole thing myself in one sitting. One day I'll make it though.

jfain, did you order Louise Pickford's "The Inspired Vegetarian"? If I remember correctly she has a couple of incredible souffles in that book- a blue cheese souffle- and even a parsnip one.

No I don't have that one but it looks good. I'm always interested in vegetarian cook books. We eat vegetarian at least 1 time a week and I'm always looking for new and exciting recipes. I think I'll look for it at my half price books. Thanks!

Yeah I saw the link I just get irritated about all the shipping but it will probably take me a month to find the time to get to half price books so I may as well bite the bullet.

It's always $3.99 for S&H for any sized used book. I don't think $3.99 is ever unreasonable- no matter how small the book- not when it's over 40 cents just to mail a holiday card! And in fact, I often order the huge coffee-table style books and I almost feel like I'm stealing! Especially when the book itself is mere pennies or a couple bucks!

BTW- let me share THESE two BUYS!

I sent these two books to several friends this Christmas (the Martha Stewart Gardening one is a 4 lb. $50.00 book I bought five of for under $2.00 each, and the Walt Disney one is a 6 lb. $75.00 book I bought four of for under five bucks each!!!) :
