    Default Well, I was curious...

    ...so I broke-down and tried those "Double Down" "sandwiches" from KFC today. They're the new bun-less wonders- a pair of breaded/fried chicken fillets sandwiching oozing swiss cheese, special sauce and bacon. Being a fat dude- I should have loved them- 'cause fried food and me enjoy real tight friendship- but I couldn't even eat half of it. Far to salty with an over-powering flavor I could not identify that just had no appeal to me. So, I swung back around to the drive-up window again to try the grilled version. If possible- it was even worse! Thank goodness I had also ordered a large side of cole slaw, 'cause that ended up being my supper. Here's hoping the dinner-bell signaled something a bit tastier at YOUR table tonight!

    that is the problem wit KFC - they "marinate" in a heavy sodium solution, then add a ton more salt to the MSG in the breading - and then they have bacon and swiss - just more salt

    I think I'll wait before trying them - so sorry you had a bad experience with them!

    but I bet if you made it at home with chicken soaked in buttermilk and a nice breading - it would be really good!

    I agree with Mama Mangia, nothing is better than home made.
