    Default "Newman's Own" Food Products?

What Paul Newman "Newman's Own" food products do you all like and use?

Saw a nice piece on NBS Nightly News w/ Bryan William that highlighted the fact that Newman's almost 30 yr. old company has donated nearly $300 Million in profits to various charities over the years. They reported that Newman's interest in cooking started when he felt none of the store-bought salad dressings provided enough flavor- so he started making his own vinaigrettes and bottling enough to hand-out to friends as holiday gifts, too. Newman's policy from the beginning has been to donate every cent of profit- what a man- and what a company, huh? FANTASTIC!

I really like what he has done. I agree that he is great for donating to worthy causes. I have not tried his products because of the price. CF

It's nice to see the company continues to prosper after his death; would like to see a list of charities, a break down of the donations and percentage of profits to donations.

I particularly like the caesar salade dressing.

    Newman's Own Creamy Caesar Dressing

    1 cup mayonnaise
    3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
    2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
    2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce
    1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
    1/2 teaspoon ground dry mustard
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    Pinch of dried basil
    Pinch of dried oregano

Combine all ingredients and mix with an electric mixer for about 30
seconds. (I just mix this by hand!)
Chill the dressing for two hours before serving.

That is very similar to the Erma Rhombaur (sic) recipe I use only use olive oil instead of mayo and fresh garlic instead of garlic powder. I like the addition of the herbs, too. Sometimes I like the creamy instead.

Do you mash your anchovies into the dressing or just lay them on top? I go both ways.

I always put extra on top.

I like the white one's but they are pricy.
