Default Favorite/useless kitchen utensils

What's the kitchen utensil/appliance you can't live without and what's the most useless one you ever bought?
I would really miss my slotted spoon, tongs and microwave. The most useless one is an egg poacher for the microwave- requires more work really than cooking them on the stove as you have to keep taking the poacher out of the microwave, opening it and checking and then putting it back in, resetting etc etc and it still doesn't cook eggs evenly.... that was a complete waste of $4 !!!
Does anyone have a pineapple corer and does it really work?

My microwave was a waste of money - never use it - so now I use it for heating the wax for my eyebrows.

I love my Pampered Chef spatulas, they are so great to cleaning the bowl completely.

Useless? Probably my grapefruit knife.

I love my Santoku knife. Couldn't live without it.

Useless? Garlic press. I used it for awhile, but now I just crush/chop. I got tired of all that garlic being wasted because it was smushed in there.

I never use my blender. It's a KitchenAid, works well and looks great. However, I find I get by using my food processor and it's easier to clean. Another thing I wanted a lot but never use is my apple corer/peeler. There was a time when I wanted all maner of little kitchen gagets but now I think less is more and certain items I couldn't live without, others always remain on the periphery with a tinge of buyer's remorse.

My favorite would also probably be my slotted spoon -- the metal one cuz sticking a plastic spoon in some nice hot grease to take out french fries & tator tots is NOT a good idea... LOL

Most useless -- I have one of those orange corers. Ya know, just stick it in and give it a good twist and blah blah blah orage juice... HA!! More like blah blah blah big ol sticky mess!

Favorite: My Circulon cookware. It's cleans in a jiffy.

Worthless: George Foreman Grill. The grease collection method is worthless and you can't remove the cooking surface to clean.

Favorite: One of my many Pampered Chef products. I've already mentioned my knives. I also like the bowls/lids.

Worthless: I second cinnamon on the george forman grill. I used it once and put in back in the box and stuck it in the back of my closet. Thinking of listing it on EBay.

ya know, I have a GF grill too and hardly ever use it. Lately I'm much more likely to use it as a panini press than a grill. It makes a good sandwich - and the clean up is much easier than if I were grilling meat or veggies. But I don't use it enough to justify all of the room it takes up, so it would rate very high on my "useless" list.

Lately my favorite has been my Calphalon santoku knives. I'd been using the same cheap set of knives I got from my mom when I moved out on my own (nearly 10 years ago). I'm still in awe of how a good knife works.

Another "can't live without" favorite, are good rubber scrapers. I use them ALL the time!
