Default Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies

Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies

Brownies:
4 oz. semisweet chocolate
5 T. unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs, at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla
1-1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream Cheese Filling:
5 T. unsalted butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla

Bake at 325º. Grease and flour a 9x13" baking pan. Melt chocolate with butter in pan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Cool 5-10 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and set aside. Mix the filling in a large bowl, with medium speed, beat butter and cream cheese 2-3 minutes, until smooth. Beat in sugar and then eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla; set aside. Beat remaining brownie ingredients into chocolate mixture, in the order listed, until smooth. Spread 1/2 into prepared pan; top with filling, then add remaining brownie batter. Swirl together using tip of a sharp knife to form a pattern. Bake 25-30 minutes. Let cool before cutting.

Makes 12.
