Also you can add 1 tsp of finely chopped garlic for a garlic mashed potato. I like the prepared garlic when doing this as it's soft and whips into the potatoes well.

I would like to try this idea the next time I make my own version of mashed potatoes. I thought it was as simple as my procedure. Thanks for the suggestion.
