Question taco bar

I'm putting together a taco/nacho bar for my son's first birthday party in January.

I don't want to miss anything, so....what would you serve?

so far, my list is...

*hard and soft taco shells
*ground beef taco meat
*grated cheese
*sour cream
*black olives
*green onions
*black beans
*lettuce
*salsa
*nacho cheese
*tortilla chips

Am I missing anything??

I did think of tomatoes, but they're so hard to find good ones this time of year...and I have salsa - does that count?

Don't forget the sauces. I love zesty ranch sauce for tacos.

Sure salsa counts - and I know what you mean about trying to find decent tomatoes!!

We went to a taco bar at a friends house and they also had a dish of diced tomatoes (from a can) with salt, pepper, parsley and garlic (they added themselves) along side of the chopped tomatoes and salsa! For those who may not like spicy. It was good.

What about refried beans? I noticed black beans but refried are also good. I think you pretty much have everything. That is a really good idea for a party. It is simple and everyone loves tacos. Will you be making any sides with it or is it just tacos?

It'll pretty much just be tacos & chips. Of course we'll have a cake and probably some cookies and snack type stuff. I don't want to go too overboard because if all of our guests are like us, they're tired of eating so much after all of the holidays.

That is true about eating so much. I think the taco bar will be a hit. YOu will have to let us know how it went. I am thinking about using your idea for our New Years Eve party. It is something simple. We are having finger foods so this will tie right in.
