Hi Wistful,

That is all good and fine with relying on your better-half to "sling all the hash"

BUT HECK....what if she gets sick, or you want to surprise her with a really awesome dinner sometime, or heck; think about this....my fiance' actually won me over by cooking me a delicious meal of Chicken Parmesean!

And let's face it many women now-a-days just aren't that keen on taking care of some poor ole' guy who can't even cook

Now for some "food for thought":
1) Start simple and have fun with cooking
2) Cook the stuff you'd know how to do in your sleep and start playing with your own ideas on how to improve it.
3) Surprise your Mom, or girlfriend, or a guyfriend with some homemade cookies or a cake you made, and feel the simple pleasure of having made someone's day a little brighter!

These are just a few ideas and a few of the ways I would advise even my own son to begin in his adventures of cooking. Actually my sons started out on the grill and went from there! I know many men who love & enjoy cooking. And heck most of them even have wives who will do all the clean up afterwards just because they so appreciate the man in their life doing the cooking for a change!!!

Talk to you later, Cathy

You've got me all juiced up, I ordered "JOY of COOKING" even though I feel the word JOY, in that context, is a misnomer.

Nonetheless, I will wage war in my kitchen, and strive to teach all the contrivances therein, that I am not a man to be dismissed casually. Who knows, I may be a famous chef one day and I'll owe it all to you.

Dear Wistful,

You go forth and conquer!!!!! Win that damsel, just make sure she is worthy of the great man that you are, and the Terrific Chef you will be!

I can assure you the day will come when you will truly understand the "Joy of Cooking", and I mean that with all my heart, just don't give up!

I get tired from time to time of anything I do on a daily basis like cooking, but I can promise you cooking has brought me many hours of pleasure in my life. I love, love, love it, and for so many reasons!

CCCathy

LOL -

Hey wistful - it may be cheaper to take culinary classes! If you lived closer I'd teach you how to cook - and if you showed up hungry I would feed you. I don't believe in anybody going hungry.
