    Lightbulb or shall I say how do YOU make Goulash?

    I need ideas and inspiration!!!

    My Mom always made the best goulash in the world, try as I might I have never ever been able to duplicate it [or either my taste buds changed since I grew up] but anyway I want as many recipes for goulash as everyone is willing to share I LOVE GOULASH!!!

    And Thank you in advance for all the great recipes!!!

    ground beef,cooked elbow macaroni, kidney beans, chopped onions celery, bell pepper and carrots, kernal corn, chopped canned tomatoes, chopped garlic, salt, pepper, paprika--

    cook off ground beef, add onions, celery, carrots and bell pepper cook till soft. add seasoning and remaining ingredients. Depending on juice from tomatoes, corn etc, you may want to add a bit of broth or stock?At this point I usually cover and bake for about 45 minutes to an hour. correct seasoning and enjoy.

    Macaroni and Sausage Goulash

    1 Lb of bulk spicy breakfast sausage
    1 large onion diced
    2 medium carrots diced
    2 stalks of celery diced
    1 large green sweet bell pepper diced
    1 12 oz can of stewed tomatoes
    1 16oz can of diced tomatoes
    1 cup of stock
    2 cloves of garlic minced
    1 tablespoon of dried oregan1 teaspoon of pepper flakes
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 lb of elbow macaroni

    Crumble and brown the sausage in a large deep dutch oven. Add vegetables, oregano and garlic and pepper flakes, continue cooking until the onions are translucent. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
    Cook the elbow macaroni following the directions on the box, drain and mix into the sauce. Allow the pasta to absorb the sauce. Depending on the stewed tomatoes, I may add a bit of sugar in vinegar if there isn't enough tartness. Enjoy.

    I use the same steps for Macaroni Beef Goulash except to replace the sausage with ground beef.

    I know it isn't a traditional Hungarian style Goulash but it's what we grew up with and called Goulash.
