I've had the Route 11 sweet potato chips and they're good. Also I think the Tera Chips has a mix with sweet potatos in it.

A friend of mine worked once for a potato chip company, it's the packaging that makes up the cost of the chips. And he said don't eat any chips that look like they are burnt. They don't burn the chips ...

I don't know what he meant - but I don't like burnt chips!

We have a diner here that serves homemade chips with their hotdogs; one day they burned them - YUK!!!

I saw someone was going to post the recipe for their own tortilla chips, but I didn't see it anywhere. I make my own too, in the oven. I just cut some corn tortillas into triangles and bake single layer for 10 minutes or so at 400F (or until crispy)

for the cinnamon chips, I cut flour tortillas into triangles, lay them out on a baking sheet, spray with butter flavored cooking spray, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, then bake about 375F for 10-12 minutes. Serve with honey or chocolate syrup.

I just tried making some baked potato chips. Let's just say I need some work. I managed to let them burn AND they stuck to the pan. *sigh*

I wonder if I could convince hubby to switch to homemade potato chips, once I've gotten the recipe right that is. So if anyone has a foolproof way of doing it, I'm all ears. I think I'll try Mama's version this weekend, see how it goes & I'll let everyone know how they turn out.

I've never tried to make potato chips before. I've heard of people making them before. I just don't know how they do it. I think I'll stick to the bag though. LOL

Very easy - hot oil to 350 - 360*; thinly (very thin) sliced potatoes (scrub and leave the skins on if you don't want to peel them); deep fry a few at a time; remove to paper towels and sprinkle with salt or flvored seasoning of choice. I love them while still warm! You've got to try it atleast once! And you can use sweet potatoes as well!

I think that homemade potato chips are the best. My grandma used to make them when I was younger. I wish I had her recipe so I could post it. However, I think the oil has to be much higher if they are not coming out.

That doesn't seem too hard. Thanks for letting me know how to make them. I'll have to try it this weekend.
