    Yes they are inexpensive and so good tasting! I love the corn tortillas best > I think the flavor of the corn is such a great addition to any dish, my very favorite are beef enchiladas!

    mexican tortilla soup

    cup up some tortilla`s in long strips and fry to a golden color and set aside
    oil for frying
    1 cup chopped onion
    1 lb chicken cut into bite size pieces
    5 cups water
    14 ounce can of chopped tomatoes w/puree
    juice from 1 lime
    2 cups frozen corn
    1 avocado chopped
    1/4 cup frozen peas
    1/8 cup shredded carrots
    4 TBsp fresh chopped cilantro leaves

    1 lb mexican shredded cheese mix

    In a large pot
    add a few spoons of corn oil & fry onion for 2 minutes and add the chicken and continue cooking for 5 minutes add all other ingredients exept for the cheese and tortillas ,bring to a boil and let simmer for 40 min to 1 hr

    serve in individual bowls , top with the tortilla strips and cheese
