Welcome to the forum and I hope to see you around. Cooking is a learned art and after a while it becomes natural. At that point you can make up meals without really thinking. Much like many things in life, you just need to keep trying and eventually it all makes sense. I hope we can guide you along the way.

I agree with spiceplace. Just keep trying and do it as often as you can. Before you know it cooking will be much like clockwork to you. Don't be afraid to experiment--as for me, a couple of burnt meals (haha) did not keep my family from supporting my endeavors. Tried and tried and eventually, I was able to cook great meals (or perhaps they've just gotten used to bad cooking, lol).
