    Default Hello from Israel

    Hi,

I'm a mother of 3 and an English Teacher in Israel.

I found this site when I was surfing to promote my own site successful-cooking.info - The Art of Successful Cooking.

I started my site because after 10 years of living with a chef, I realised that cooking professionally was a whole new dimension to anything I had understood previously. I wanted to share all the things I had learnt over the years.

    Hello ymget,

Nice to meet you and glad you are promoting your site "The Art of Successful Cooking", though you did not include your website.

Teaching English in Israel, how wonderful, though I have to say your sentence (and I quote) "I wanted to share all the things I had learnt over the years".

There is no such word as learnt~ maybe you meant to write learned. I want to help you with this erroneous word because as an English teacher in Israel, you want to correctly teach your students. Hope this helps you. Have a great day

Always makes me wonder when someone posts to mention their site and lists zero information in their profile.

You shouldn't wonder too much - on subscribing to your forum I got this message that asked me to post a welcome message - which I did before I got a chance to update my profile!

I checked out your site. It is very basic with alot of adds. I am guessing everyone here can debone a chicken and cook veggies. If you stick around I think the other members here could teach you alot.
I did not see anything that would be useful to me.
I do have one question about this line I copied from your section 10 Tips for Choosing Vegetables
Always cook vegetables in a cooked vessel. If possible, cook them in a pressure cooker. What are you calling a cooked vessel? I would never pressure cook any vegetable.

I got this from using English.com "Learnt is common in British English, learned in American English". I've never seen anyone use learnt either but I guess that is why.

My ex-mother-in-law not only said "learnt" she also "Wrenched" out her dish towels and so many of her Southern Slang words were simply hysterical, when she would say something knowing darn good and well she was pronouncing it all wrong her face would light up and there would be a gleam of mischief dancing across her eyes and smile, she was very proud of her BAD ENGLISH!!!! It gave us something to laugh about!

By the way welcome to our forum YMGET!!! The more members the better!!!
