    Well hello spiceplace!! I am new to the forums and to blogging but I have recently found it to be very educational and just all around fun so I am blogging about my interests! I happen to love to cook, and just be in the kitchen all together! And what is a cook without a great tongue for tasting, that is me also! I am always up to try new things. My step-grandmother is Mexican and can create some great authentic dishes and I have recently tried Indian food for the first time as well (loved it!). Always up for the oriental food but will never turn down a great bite! I am excited to see what great recipes I can find and share here!

    We're a fine bunch of folks who always enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. I personally enjoy welcoming another fellow-Illinoisan! I live in Bloomington- in rural, central Illinois a stone's-throw from Peoria and Springfield...

    I think you'll find we're a diverse group of folks who come from all backgrounds and various walks of life. I was a professional chef for many years who worked in kitchens from Chicago to Seattle- spent the last 13 years of my career in Alaska. Now I work a much kinder/gentler job (completely UN-food-related) in the corporate world.

    The folks here are fantastic friendly cooks who all specialize in various types of cuisine. I love coming here to share stories, gossip and knowledge. My friends here are the saaviest foodies and most talented cooks, ever!
