Hi GemJO!!!
Welcome to our forum, I am sure you'll like hanging out here. We love sharing and there is always lots of lively discussions and recipes, helpful tips, and just plain ole' fun.
LOVE your State!!! I have been kayaking on the Buffalo National River, and then stayed at an awesome B&B on the Caddo River in Caddo Gap, and even hunted Diamonds at Diamond Crater, and then over to the Hot Springs area for some Quartz Crystal hunting, really struck pay-dirt there!!! I guess my favorite was this little restaurant we ate at after our float down the Caddo River, and the terrific breakfasts that we were served at the B&B!!! I love the Quachitta Mountains and Mount Ida. Gosh I wish I lived closer than I do!!!
But anyhow I am glad to have you here. What kind of foods do you like? And what are your favorite interests food wise?
Cheers, CCCathy

Hello and welcome.
My name is Janie.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm experimenting with a lot of different things in the kitchen. I like a fair variety of food. Don't really good fancy, just try to make it taste good. I tend to open spices and smell them when i'm cooking to see if i think they'll work. Have a hard time following a recipe without giving it my own tweak. I've experimented with some chinese, mexican, italian cooking.

Hi Gemjo,
You sound like an axcellent cook! Doing your own tweaking is a must!!! I like your style of smelling the spices to see if they will work! Believe it or not there are a vast variety of spices, so many in fact that I am sure all of our kitchens look rather "coming up short" if we were really aware of all that we could have!!! You may want to do a search on Spices here and see if you like what you find
Cheers, Cathy

Howdy gemjo, and welcome to our l'il corner of the web. I think you'll find Spice Place a cozy & comfy place to be. We're a fine group made up of folks from all over... We're glad you're here!
I was raised in Illinois- lived many years in Alaska. My Dad is from Kansas and my Mom is from Arkansas. Still got lotsa family in Stuttgart, Clarendon, Pine Bluff... I visited there lots as a child- I remember fishing on the White River often, and motoring up to the state line w/ all my cousins to visit Dogpatch - talk about FUN!

Hello gemjo_99
I'm a newbie myself and hardly think it is appropriate for me to welcome you so it's just hello and I hope you have a super time learning the culinary art.
