    Today I made a bean soup with about five different beans,paprika,cumin,garlic,parsley,onion,diced tomato and carrots. Also added some veggie bouillion. I had to cook the beans for quite a while to tender them up. Turned out to be good though.

    That is wonderful! I imagine with the addition of th cumin it tasted a bit like chili too! I love chili, I use alot of cumin in mine. I love 5 bean soup! I love beans, have to add lots of boiling water to them as they cook so they do not dry out sometimes! As you pointed out sometimes they take a long time to cook until they get tender! I use a pressure cooker also it's so much quicker, but I am just careful not to overfill it as it will blow the safety valve if too full!

    Oh,I love chili also.....definately will have to try using the pressure cooker! Thanks for mentioning that.
