I didn't write a formal intro when I first joined the site a few days ago.
I'm a new member from the NYC area-- born and raised. What else? I'm 27 years old and have been cooking since I was 13. The first thing I ever made was a batch of chocolate chip cookies...which turned out salty because I accidentally mixed up the sugar and salt...yipes! My mom was kind. "Ohh, these are...umm...interesting! You didn't mix up the salt and sugar, did you?!"
Cooking is my creative outlet. I love reading cooking magazines, especially Gourmet (RIP!) and a few others. I watch PBS cooking shows on most Saturdays (think: Everyday Food), so much so that my ex-boyfriend watches them now and he's not even into cooking ('food porn' as he calls it!).
I don't go out to eat often as I'm on a budget, but I do enjoy that from time to time.
I'm one of those crazy slow food enthusiasts, who doesn't like cutting corners and likes to make things that take a long time.
Anyway, that's me! I'm trying to make the 15 post quota, so I can post photos of dishes that I make.
