Default New guy on the block

    Hello everyone!

My name is Aaron and I'm 24. I'm just starting to really get into cooking and I figured I could use a place to talk with other foodies (since nobody I know actually can cook).

Back in August I discovered the show "Good Eats" (I know....what took me so long?). I've been watching EVERY episode for about 6 months and I bought AB's new Good Eats book. But even though I've learned a lot of things from the show, every time I try to actually cook something....I screw it up. So yeah, I'll be asking a LOT of questions :P

Can't wait to meet you all!

Howdy Aaron and welcome to Spice Place!

And don't worry screwing-up in the kitchen, it is completely permissible! We all do it- and on the bright side- some of the gourmet world's most classic dishes were created that way- not the least of which was the famous Reese's Peanut-Butter Cup (Hey you got your chocolate in MY peanut-butter! Oh wait- you're only 24... perhaps you don't remember those tv commercials- HA!)

Welcome Aaron. Don't worry about asking questions since I do it all the time. If you have a problem and all else fails just ask Mama.

Hi Aaron. My name is Janie and I wanted to say welcome to the forum. I also watch Alton Brown. I saw the episode a few days ago where he told about how he has lost 50pounds. Needless to say he has way more will power than me.
