Apricot Sauce
10 ounce jar apricot jam
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon rum, cognac or Kirsch, optional
Combine the jam, sugar and water in a small saucepan and stir over low heat until blended in smooth. Using a small sieve and a small spoon or whisk, strain the sauce while working it with a spoon or whisk. Let cool in stir in the rum or other liquor
Delightful over vanilla ice cream.
