    howdy jglass (Yes- I'm kevin... you're "janie", is that right?)

    Yep- I find the slow cooker a simple, painless, easy-to-clean-up way to make marinara. Also, no danger of scorching the sauce! I spray the inside of the crock w/ olive oil Pam spray and it's easy as pie!

    Remember - don't let your sauce simmer too long or it will start to break down on you.

    Tomatoes, puree, paste - all cooked products and a damn good sauce can be made in
    1 1/2 hours!

    And as far as splatters go - do it Italian style - lift (the cover), stir, wipe, lift, stir, wipe, lift, stir, wipe........................and so on..................

    lol I do exactly that.
    By the way..I have a jar of your marinara in the fridge right now. I make it once a week.
