1 box Mostacciolli
1/4 cup butter, separated have it close by (see below) 4 garlic cloves, minced 1 quart heavy cream 2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (separated into 1 cup increments) 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy ~ YOU DECIDE) 1 red bell pepper diced 1 onion diced 1 cup sliced mushrooms 2 tomatoes diced 1/2 bunch fresh basil (torn into pieces) olive oil salt and pepper to taste Cook Mostaccioli, drain and set aside Melt 1 Tbsp butter in a saucepot. Add minced garlic Slowly add heavy whipping cream to melted butter and garlic mixture. Bring sauce to a slow simmer, then add 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese Stir until melted Let sauce simmer on low. Break into pieces and brown Italian sausage in a skillet Add Mrs Dash, red bell pepper, onion, tomotoes and mushrooms to meat mixture. When cooked dump them into the sauce ( I like a bit of "crunch" left in my veggies) Add fresh basil Add diced garlic to taste. Add olive oil. Mix sauce and Mostaccioli together, add salt and pepper to taste in a 9 x 13 inch pan, top with remaining cheese. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until cheese melts. |
