Like the sound of that, I may try it next time.

This is my bread and butter pudding.

Sliced white bread into thin slices, remove crusts and cut into four smaller squares.

Layer bread, sultanas, and demerara sugar, drizzel with melted butter and sweet sherry. (In a sandwich fashion), not over lapping the bread.
Build the layers up until the top of the baking dish is reached.

Two eggs beaten, vanilla extract and milk (about a pint),
Heat in a pan until hot. Pour over bread and fruit.
Bake in mod oven until it is springing to the touch.

Easy to serve as it its stacked neatly into towers held up by the egg custard.

Keziah- "sultanas" are our "raisins", (dried grapes) correct?

Well sort of.... sultanas are bigger than currants but smaller than Raisins.
They are a dried grape but it is a small grape.
