Default A tasty way with a hamburger

One recent day when I ran out of hamburger rolls and my kids were clamboring, I tried something a bit different and came up with something which my entire family just loves - a very tasty way to serve the common hamburger!

    Ingredients:

    One pound of burger
    small onion, finely chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
1 carton of Texas toast or other garlic toast
honey-mustard barbeque sauce or sauce of choice

    Directions:

make and grill the burgers as usual

Bake the toast according to package instructions

Place burger on top of toast and add barbeque sauce as a condiment.

These will simply melt in your mouth and have the kids coming back for more!
My triplets love them!! As did my husband - who's a picker eater. Enjoy!!

For some reason we never have any hamburger buns. Just use bread most of the time, unless planed in advance. CF

When I was a kid - we didn't use hamburger buns - it was homemade bread or homemade rolls - thick and dense and flavorful - one burger filled you for a long time. I don't think I had a commercial hamburger bun until I was a teenager!

I saw them finish pan fried burgers with a splash of worchestershire on tv one day. It is yummy. I do it all of the time.

Worcestershire, is good stuff. Some of you may remember that I bought some dry powder ( Worcestershire ) some time back. I didn't know how to use it. But now I just shake some on what ever I need it on. On adding it in a recipe I add some until it taste like I want it. So all in all it has worked out good. I really don't think it is any stronger than the liquid counterpart. CF

Another goodie is, of course, good old-fashioned chilisauce! I don't think there's hardly anything that can be put on a burger that isn't good, actually. Outside of McDonald's, it's hard to find a really good burger in the British Isles.........................certainly in the little hamlet from which I am sprung.
