    Default Hamburger soup

Here's a soup my mother makes that I absolutely love to make and eat.

    2 pounds hamburger
1 envelope lipton onion soup mix
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 box and 1 can progresso or swanson beef broth
    frozen mixed vegetables
small macaroni (ditalini, and orzo are ones I use)

Brown hamburger and drain off most of the grease.
Add the hamburger and all the other ingredients (except the macaroni) to a crock pot
    And simmer all day.
Just before meal time seperate what will be used for the meal and add a 1/2 cup of uncooked macaroni. Simmer on the stove until macaroni is done. Doesn't take long at all.

This is a picture of one pot I made a while ago

Soups are one of my favorite foods. I keep them in the fridge all the time heating just what I need. My problem is no one in my family will eat them at all except my wife who will eat canned tomato soup with milk. Come to think, that is not a problem at all. I make what I want and get 100% of it.

I made a pot of this last night to take to our daughter's baby shower today. We had some left over Italian sweet sausage and I crumbled it up and added it in. It really added a nice flavor.

I have always called this soup Campfire stew, lol. Whenever we go camping it's one of the items we always cook up.
