I don't feel well when I eat foods with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it. All the corn syrup in my area has that ingredient in it. I went on the Net to find a homemade recipe. It is really made from sugar so I don't think it is a true substitute recipe. This came out very well and I was able to make candy eggs with it.
Corn Syrup Substitute 2 C. sugar 3/4 C. water 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar Dash of salt Bring to boil. To remove crystals on side of pot, reduce heat and cover for 2 minutes. Boil uncovered until temperature reaches soft ball stage. I doubled the recipe and it came out very nice too. |
