    Hi, Meeleend,

Welcome to the forum. At the bottom of the main page there's a forum just for introducing youself. Why don't you tell us a little about yourself there; where you're from, what you like to cook, the foods you eat, etc.

And don't be shy about posting. Either join existing threads or start new ones.

    Hi, Thomas,

    Welcome to SpicePlace.

Why don't you go down to the Introductions forum and tell us a little about yourself: where you live, what you like to cook, and so on.

I see you've already jumped in on some of the forums, so I don't need to encourage you to do that.

Nice to have you with us.

    Default home canning

I am new to this forum but I am interested in canning and any type of cooking tips. Presently I am canning pickles and I am wondering why my cucumbers shrink when I waterbathed them.

Thank you for your replay. I am new at all of this (canning and chatting )but, no, i just picked them the morning before putting them up. Now the spears did just fine, it was only the whole cuks that swiveled up and floated to the top of the jar.
They taste okay right now but I wonder if they will get soft later.
