    Smile Tomato powder

I recently seen it in our local grocery in the mexican food section. Is that the same as a the granules or the cubes or does it turn out like a tomato sauce? I'm very curious about the differences if there are any. Thanks, Nancy

Tomato powder is quite potent! Very rich and very tomato-y. It is usually made from the sweetest tomatoes that are skinned and then air spray-dried.

It needs to be stored in the refrigerator so that it lasts. You can store it in your pantry - but any moisture will make it clump very easily.

It is usually sprinkled on pizza, breads, salads, and added to dressings, etc. to enhance flavor. Some use it as a thickener in soups, gumbos or sauces.

Usually it is rehydrated with a ratio of 1:4
