Default Table Decoration for a Birthday Party

I do not have any experience in table decoration. We will have a birthday party this coming February and I am planning to just personally arrange our place for the occasion. My problem is the table setting. What is the proper arrangement of tables? What cloth is appropriate and what center piece to use? Hope you can share some.

For a kid's party, think fun. I wouldn't use cloth on the tables unless they're easily cleaned. For centerpieces you could arrange big lollipops in a flower pot along with some balloons, maybe.

Are you planning a "theme" or wanting to use specific colors for the party? If so, that can help inspire ideas.

cloth tablecloths always look so much better! how old is the person going to be and is it a male or a female? also - what type of a meal are you planning?

I totally agree that cloth looks better, and I guess I'm not really taking into account who might be attending the party. I know for our's we had several under 5 years old....which means we sacrificed looks for convenient cleanup
