Broccoli Onion Deluxe

Yield: 6 Servings

1 lb Pearl onions
1 lb Broccoli; cut into spears
6 tb Butter; divided
2 tb Flour
1/4 ts Salt
pn Pepper
1 c Milk
3 oz Cream cheese; softened
1/2 c Shredded cheddar cheese
1 c Soft bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 350°.

Cook onions in a small amount of water 5 minutes;
add broccoli and cook 5 minutes more. Drain; place
in a 2 quart baking dish.

Melt 4 tablespoons butter; stir in flour, salt and
pepper. Add milk slowly; cook, stirring, until
thickened and bubbly. Stir in cream cheese until
melted. Pour over vegetables; sprinkle with
cheddar. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Melt remaining
butter; mix with crumbs. Bake, uncovered, 15
minutes.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
