Ingredients:

3 C tomato juice
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbls. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 C flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 C milk


Directions:

Heat tomato juice with 1/2 tsp. salt, sugar and pepper. Sift dry ingredients, add milk and blend into a stiff dough. Drop by teaspoonsful into hot juice. Cook, covered, for 12 minutes. Do not overcook. Do not remove cover during cooking, or dumpling will become tough if steam escapes. Serve at once. These are great with roasts of beef or pork, especially.
